Out in Left

is a weekly newsletter about sports, politics, and American life without a car by Brendan Dentino. It started as a place for long-form essays about baseball through a sociopolitical lens. It has since evolved to include everything, because in America cars affect everything.

Topics include:

  • Sports - especially baseball and soccer/football

  • Politics - that’s the ‘left’ in Out in Left

  • Urbanism - ban cars

  • Music - primarily Oasis and Bruce Springsteen

  • Books - obviously

  • Travel - mainly to London

Here’s a sampling of the most popular Out in Left posts:

“I watch sports to get away from politics…”

Grow up.
